Man seen yelling at trees admits that he may have “done some ice”

27-year-old Alex Hines was charged with public intoxication after police say he was observed yelling at trees, stood in the road blocking traffic, and admitted that he may have “done some ice.”

On December 5th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Beck was dispatched to a suspicious person call at Chapman Road and Reddick Road. Deputy Beck found Alex Hines at the dead-end of Chapman Road and observed that Hines was not able to keep his balance, he was yelling at trees, slurring his speech, and had dilated pupils.

According to the report, Deputy Beck asked for his social security number so he could identify him, and Hines gave it to him after three attempts. Deputy Beck inquired whether Hines was intoxicated and he stated that he might have “done some ice” two days ago. Hines also stated that he was walking to get a cigarette but did not know where he was. Hines was standing in the middle of the road and a truck pulling a trailer was trying to get around him. Deputy Beck determined that he posed a risk to himself and others.

Alex Hines was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $439 bond.
