She told police that she struggled with her husband when trying to reenter the home and that was when Hodges started pushing her towards the edge of the porch, where he then walked to his car and left. Officers arrived on the scene after Hodges had fled and confirmed that his wife had bruising to her chest.

Upon his return, an officer approached his door and asked him to stop his vehicle. The officer stated that Hodges saw the officer’s badge and police vehicle, ignored his commands, and sped off down the street. Hodges was found minutes later and officers conducted a traffic stop.

Emmett Clark Hodges was arrested and charged with domestic assault and evading arrest. His bond was set at $3,000.
