26-year-old Devanta Bellamy was charged with domestic assault and violation of conditions of release when he pushed his grandfather out of his wheelchair during a verbal argument.
On August 27th, Clarksville Police Officer Joshua Spain responded to a domestic violence call at 952 Cindy Jo Court. Upon arrival, Officer Spain witnessed James Washington sitting on the floor outside of his wheelchair.
Washington reported that he was pushed out of his chair by his grandson, Devanta Bellamy, after a verbal argument. Devanta’s name was checked in the system and was found to have active conditions of release on file.
Devanta Bellamy was arrested and charged with domestic assault and violation of conditions of release. His bond was set at $5,500.
