On August 23rd, Clarksville Police Officer Rattray was dispatched to 612 Bunker Hill Road for a domestic situation. Benjamin Menhennet had been in an altercation with his wife, Joy Menhennet over her wanting a separation. The argument had started earlier that day in their bedroom and got physical. Benjamin pushed his wife, and in return, she slapped him. Joy then left the bedroom and he followed her, so she tried to go back into the bedroom and close the door, but Benjamin shoved his arm through which prevented her from closing it.

He then pushed into the room and pushed his wife onto the bed. Joy explained that once he got her onto the bed, Benjamin hit her on the side of her head with an open hand. She was able to get him off of her and Benjamin proceeded to punch the wall before leaving their home. When officers made contact with Benjamin, he explained that he had pushed his wife onto the bed. Joy then pushed him out of the room, and when he was trying to push back in the door struck her in the head. Joy had a red mark on her head above her right eye. There was no prior history of domestic abuse.

Benjamin Menhennet was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,500.
