Man found asleep in road but didn’t know why, how, or what the heroin in his pocket was

29-year old Mitchell Taylor was charged with simple possession and public intoxication after being found passed out in the middle of the road with heroin on his person.

On September 6th, Clarksville Police Officer Randy Cox responded to 816 Forest Street regarding a male passed out in the middle of the road. Officer Cox observed a male, Mitchell Taylor, laying in the middle of the road passed out. He woke Taylor and asked him why he was sleeping in the middle of the road, but he was unable to explain his actions.

Taylor appeared to be intoxicated due to his statements which were incoherent and the appearance of pinpoint pupils. Officer Cox performed a search that produced a small plastic case containing an amount of heroin. Taylor stated that he did not know what it was.

Mitchell Taylor was arrested and charged with simple possession and public intoxication. His bond was set at $5,439.
