Man charged with domestic assault; shoves girlfriend and takes her dog after she moves out

46-year-old Howard Williams was charged with domestic assault after he pushed his girlfriend, almost shoving her to the ground, and then took her dog and went to his doctor’s appointment.

On October 26th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Albert Smith dispatched to the residence of Howard Williams, at 5145 Workman Road, Southside TN, in regards to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, Deputy Smith spoke to Dana Wall who was parked in the middle of the roadway. Dana stated that she and her boyfriend, Howard Williams were arguing over her dog and three boxes that she left at the residence when she moved out five days prior. She advised that Howard told her to leave because he had a doctor’s appointment.

When she began to walk toward the door while calling her dog Howard became enraged and pushed her almost knocking her to the ground. She stated that he then grabbed the dog and left the residence. Deputy Smith contacted Howard over the phone and told him to return to the residence so they could figure out the current situation to, which he replied that he was not coming back because he was not going to miss his appointment “for that woman.” After attempting to reason with him, Howard hung up the phone and refused to answer any more calls. Deputy Smith determined Howard to be the primary aggressor based on the information he had and Howard’s unwillingness to cooperate. A warrant was then secured for domestic assault.

On October 27th, Howard Williams was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
