Man books it into the woods after firing shots; admits to purposefully missing

24-year-old Trace Booker was charged with domestic aggravated assault, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and possession without a prescription after firing multiple shots at his cousin.

On August 23rd, Clarksville Police Officer Salcedo was dispatched to 165 Providence Court for shots fired. Trace Booker allegedly shot at his cousin Tinisha Majors four times. When the officers arrived, Booker took off into the wood line, but they were able to locate and detain him. While escorting him back to the scene, Booker willingly said he shot at Majors in self-defense because she assaulted him. He also divulged that he had two Xanax bars in his pocket, but no prescription. According to Booker, he and Majors were having a heated discussion regarding a vehicle when she hit him.

He fired three shots in the direction of Majors with a .380 caliber pistol while she was walking away. Booker claimed he missed on purpose. He then ditched the pistol in the woodline before the officers found him and it was not recovered. Majors told officers that after Booker shot at her, he followed her to the front door fired a shot that struck the door. Three .380 shell casings were located near the vehicle and another was lodged in the door of the listed address. Booker had the distinct smell of alcohol emanating from him, as well as bloodshot eyes, and admitted he came from the Night Deposit. Majors said she did not sustain injuries.

Trace Booker was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and possession without a prescription. His bond was set at $75,000.
