Intoxicated man and dog taken into custody after being “unreasonably annoying”

50-year-old John Rye was charged with public intoxication after he allowed his dog to be aggressive toward people at the Manna Village and was “unreasonably annoying” to people around him.

On October 27th, Clarksville Police Officer Gonzalez responded to an animal call at Mana Café Ministries, 605 Providence Boulevard.

The officer made contact with John Rye who was allowing his dog to be aggressive toward people at the Manna Village. Per the report, John was unreasonably annoying people in the vicinity. Officer Gonzalez reported that he could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person and advised that he was very unsteady on his feet. Animal control took custody of his dog and John was taken into custody.

John Rye was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $439 bond.
