Trooper Snider noted bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol coming from Boyd as they spoke. When asked how much he had to drink that night, Boyd told the trooper “I had one beer and smoked some CBD earlier.” Boyd agreed to a field sobriety test, all four of which he performed poorly. After being placed under arrest, Trooper Snider asked Boyd if he would be willing to consent to a blood draw. Boyd responded with “I am not giving you anything.”

Carl Raymond Boyd Jr. was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and refusal of implied consent to tests. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
