Hammer-wielding woman jailed after homeowner finds her on their floor

35-year-old Jaclyn Nelson was charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and public intoxication when she told deputies she had ingested methamphetamine and citizens told them she had a hammer and was trying to get into homes.

On July 10th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Officers were called to investigate a suspicious person in the North Hinton and Erwin Road areas. According to the affidavit, Jaclyn Nelson was banging on doors and wielding a hammer. When authorities approached her she was barefoot, sweaty and breathless. She told them she had used methamphetamine and that people at her home were trying to kill her. A search of her residence determined it was empty.

Multiple individuals on Erwin Road attested that Nelson had attempted to gain access to their domiciles and a juvenile advised that she had scared him with the hammer. Nelson ultimately made it into one home and was prostrate on the floor until the rightful owner convinced her to depart and the deputies secured her.

Jaclyn Nelson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and public intoxication. Her bond was set at $12,000.

It’s a sad situation this woman has been involved in an accident that resulted in a passenger in her car was killed after she had admitted to being on a meth high and taking narcotics but was allowed to plead out and was given only 30 days on weekends and 5 yrs probation before serving her last weekend she showed up at the jail intoxicated and was just given 10 more days for violation of probation now she has resorted to being a menace to society and if the legal system would have made her original punishment severe enough maybe this woman would be trying to clean up her act how much more devastation has to be experienced as a result of not trying to get this woman off the streets and into an environment that can possibly rehabilitate and help this woman as well as anyone that comes in contact with her
