Driver admits to driving tired and drifting over the yellow lines into passing vehicle

50-year-old Steven Ward was charged with driving on a revoked license, driving without proof of insurance, and driver failing to exercise due care after admitting the has was driving tired and sideswiping an oncoming vehicle.

On August 21st, Officer King was dispatched to the scene of an accident at 1231 Dunbar Cave Road. Upon arrival, contact was made with Steven Ward and requested his driver’s license and insurance information. Mr. Ward could not provide the documentation for either request.

Mr. Ward advised police that he was driving eastbound on Dunbar Cave Road when he drifted over the center line and hit the side of another vehicle. He stated that he was on his commute to work and was tired. A search through their records system revealed that Mr. Ward’s license had been revoked as of December 18th, 2017 because he failed to appear at his court date.

Steven Ward was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked license, driving without proof of insurance, and driver failing to exercise due care. His bond was set at $1,500.
