Couple’s 3 children stay with grandma after witnessing parents’ marital skirmish

35-year-old Victor Montanaro and 37-year-old Lauren Montanaro were charged with domestic assault after fighting over their relationship and financial issues.

On November 15th, Clarksville Police Department Officer Reid Joffer arrived at 1051 Cherry Blossom Lane in response to a domestic violence call. Lauren Montanaro stated that she and her husband, Victor Montanaro, had been arguing over their relationship and financial problems.

According to the report, Victor attempted to get the keys to a vehicle they share out of Lauren’s purse. When Lauren pulled the purse away from Victor, he pushed her. Lauren then hit Victor in the head with her purse before calling 911.

According to Victor, he attempted to get the keys out of Lauren’s purse before the two wrestled over the purse and Lauren hit him with it. His mother, Lydia Montanaro, showed Officer Joffer a video of Victor looking for the keys in Lauren’s purse before she grabbed it. Reportedly, the video does not show any more than that, but you could hear the two scuffling in the background.

Officer Joffer noted a red mark on Victor’s head and swelling on the side of Lauren’s face. Their 3 children saw the whole thing happen and were left in the custody of Lydia.

Victor Montanro was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $500 bond.
