Clarksville man wrecks motorcycle while attempting to run from police

35-year-old Tyler Goad as charged with evading arrest, riding without a required helmet, and driving on a suspended license after wrecking his motorcycle while attempting to run from police.

On July 18th, officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Honda off-road motorcycle at the intersection of Madison and Hillcrest. The officer had witnessed the motorcyclist operating the vehicle with no lights going eastbound and was not wearing a helmet during operation. They were able to identify the rider as Tyler Goad. Officers activated emergency lights and siren and turned to pursue the motorcycle, and at that time Goad increased his speed and continued onto Hillcrest.

Police continued in the direction that the biker was traveling with his lights and siren turned off. When the officer reached the intersection of Memorial and Hillcrest, they discovered Goad lying on the ground after having wrecked his bike. Goad was then admitted to Tennova Medical Center and warrants were secured for him following his treatment. After further investigation into Goad’s DMV information, officers discovered that his license had been suspended since 2013 due to a failure to appear charge.
