Clarksville man charged when argument turns violent after drinks at Tilted Kilt

34-year-old Thomas Heath Spain was charged with domestic assault when an argument turned physical after having a few drinks at Tilted Kilt and returning home.

On February 23rd, police responded to a domestic assault in progress on Tradewinds Terrace. Upon arrival, police made contact with the victim who stated she and Thomas Heath Spain had gone out for drinks at the Tilted Kilt. She then said once they returned home, Thomas attempted to start an argument over her plans to move out. The victim stated she attempted to leave the residence but Thomas locked the door, held her down, and began assaulting her.

She went on to say that Thomas struck her in the face multiple times that caused a laceration to the inside of her lip. Police did observe swelling and dried blood on the right side of the victim’s bottom lip. The victim was able to escape to a neighbors house where she called the police. She told police that Thomas had attempted to follow her at first but stopped, got into his car and drove away. Police attempted to contact Thomas by telephone but no one answered.

On March 9th, Thomas Heath Spain was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $2,500.
