Two charged in mobile meth lab bust at Dunbar Cave

33-year-old Lindsay Kio and 32-year-old Richard Sanford were charged with a meth violation and unlawful drug paraphernalia after police were called to Dunbar Cave State Park in reference to a call about a suspicious person.

On August 25th, officers were called to Dunbar Cave State Park due to a suspicious person call. Authorities made contact with Lindsey Kio and Richard Sanford in the parking lot of the park. PSD Rico indicated narcotics may be in the vehicle belonging to Kio and a probable cause search was conducted. Inside the vehicle was a case with needles, razor blades, and a small baggie with a crystalline substance inside.

Another baggie was found in the glove box, and the substance inside field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Police then found a pesticide bottle used to cook meth with other meth-cooking ingredients and supplies. After being read his Miranda rights, Sanford told police that both he and Kio were users, but said Kio knew nothing of the mobile lab in the vehicle. All items were collected and moved for destruction, and Kio and Sanford were taken into custody.

Lindsay Kio was arrested and charged with meth violation and drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $6,000.

Richard Sanford was arrested and charged with initiation process meth, meth violation, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $65,000.
