Officer states man used fireworks as a deadly weapon

20-year-old Kyi Braxton was charged with reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana, and evading arrest after an officer observed him and two others light a Maverick Firework Box outside a residential window near Summit Heights.

On July 1st, Clarksville Police Officer Ferreira was patrolling Summit Heights when he saw three black males run across Richardson Street. According to the affidavit, they set off a “25 shots Top Maverick firework box” next to a bedroom window. The officer stated that he found Kyi Braxton and another black male hiding in the yard of 716 Central Avenue.

Braxton through his backpack to the ground and tried to run but was caught. A search of the bag yielded fireworks and weed. At the bottom of the report, the officer hand-jammed the statement “Mr. Braxton used fireworks as a deadly weapon”.

Kyi Braxton was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana, and evading arrest. His bond was set at $15,000.
