The officer stated Freddie was yelling profanities and threatened to harm Jannice. After they were separated, Jannice explained she came home to her boyfriend, Freddie Smith, intoxicated on the couch. According to the affidavit, they got into an argument that stayed verbal until he followed her into the bedroom and said he wanted to kill her.

She stated he then pushed her down and punched her three times in the face. Jannice’s grandson, who also lived at the residence, confirmed Freddie punched her in the face. It was also reported that her grandson attempted to get him off her but Freddie turned to him when he tried and punched him in the face. The two juveniles present told authorities what they saw, and due to all statements collected Smith was determined to be the primary aggressor.

Freddie Smith was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault. One of his charges was dismissed, and he pled guilty to the other charge of domestic assault. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, but his time has been suspended on good behavior and probation.
