48-year-old Robert Smith was charged with false imprisonment and domestic assault after he reportedly told his girlfriend he was going to burn the house down with her in it and told her to kill herself several times during an argument.
On December 5th, Jennifer Hembree reported that her boyfriend, Robert Smith, threatened to burn the house down with her inside of it during an argument. He threatened to kill her multiple times and was recorded stating he promised he would burn the house down. While they were arguing, Jennifer attempted to leave but Robert threw her keys into the yard.
When Jennifer was questioned by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Evans, she stated she was in fear of injury due to his history. He screamed in her face and told her she should kill herself. She felt she was unable to leave after he threw her keys into the yard. The deputy noted that when he arrived, she was locked in a bedroom with a golf club propping the door shut from the inside. She claimed it was there to keep Robert from getting to her.
Robert Smith was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and domestic assault. He was later released on a $5,000 bond.
