Man points gun in girlfriend’s face and steals from grandmother in separate incidents

19-year-old Randall Gilmer was charged with domestic assault after pointing a gun in his girlfriend’s face and telling her “she was not going to leave him”. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft of property after getting mad at his grandmother for not buying him Subway and stealing her car, cell phone, and $1,465 in cash.

On February 24th, Officer McLaughlin responded to an aggravated assault call on Caldwell Lane. The victim advised officers she was involved in a dispute with Randall Gilmer. According to the affidavit, she and Randall were living together in Nashville and that’s where the incident began when Randall pointed a gun to her face saying she was not going to leave him.

They drove to Clarksville so he could move in with his grandmother. When they arrived in Clarksville, Randall got out of the car and went into his grandmother’s house. Officers noted there were unsuccessful attempts made to contact the grandmother.

Randall had a previous warrant for theft of property from July 2019. On July 6th, Officer Blackwell responded to a theft of property call on Vogue Hill Road. The victim told officers she had picked up her grandson, Randall Gilmer, from Nashville and drove back to Clarksville. She said Randall got angry with her for refusing to buy him Subway. After they arrived at her house, Randall grabbed her wallet and cell phone and drove off in her car.

By the time officers arrived, her vehicle had been returned with keys inside. Her cell phone was located in another vehicle and her wallet was on the floorboard, but there was $1,465 in cash missing from her wallet. Officer Blackwell attempted to make contact with Randall, but he would not respond. Randall eventually responded by text message stating he did not take his grandmother’s money and to recheck the vehicle. The officer searched the victim’s purse and vehicle, but the cash was not located. A warrant was issued for Randall at that time for theft.

Randall Gilmer was arrested and charged on February 24th for Aggravated Assault, Theft of Property, and Out of County Warrants. His bond was set at $52,500.
