Man says to girlfriend “I could have shot you” while cocking his handgun

47-year-old Eric Spivey was charged with aggravated domestic assault when he cocked his handgun while telling his girlfriend “I forgot you were here I could have shot you”, per report.

On August 13th, Officer Pedro Torres was dispatched to a domestic violence call at 942 Woody Hills Drive. Upon arrival, contact was with Angieneckia Wright, who stated she had been in a verbal argument with her boyfriend Eric Spivey since yesterday. Wright stated Spivey woke up while she was in the kitchen and said to her “I forgot you were here I could have shot you” then started looking for his gun. Wright stated he cocked the gun but did not point it at her.

The officer then made contact with Spivey, who stated that he did not have a verbal altercation with Wright and did not point a gun at her. He just wanted her to leave the residence. The officer recovered a .380 cal Hi-Point under the couch where Wright stated the weapon was thrown.

Eric Spivey was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. His bond was set at $2,500.
