Man found with gun after police smell marijuana coming from his building

35-year-old Christopher Eason was charged with felon in possession of a firearm after officers say they smelled marijuana coming from his building and later found a gun in his desk.

On November 16th, Clarksville Police Agent Matthew Ferrell and other officers responded to a loud disturbance call at 317 Dover Road. Upon arrival, officers say they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the building. When Agent Ferrell talked to Christopher Eason and asked to search the building, Eason gave consent to search the building but not his desk.

The next day, multiple agents of the Clarksville Police Department executed a search warrant at the building and found a Glock 27 with a loaded magazine in the desk drawer. According to the affidavit, Eason was convicted of possession of cocaine for resale in March 2006.

Christopher Eason was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He was later released on a $20,000 bond.
