Man charged with domestic assault after teen tells 911 his mother is bleeding

30-year-old Melvin Clardy was charged with domestic assault after his girlfriend’s 15-year old son called 911 because Clardy hit his mother and she was bleeding.

On August 22nd, Clarksville Police Officer N. DeJesus responded to a call for service at 577 Joshua Drive. A 15-year-old juvenile called 911 to report that his mother was being hit by her boyfriend Melvin Clardy and she was bleeding. Upon arrival at the residence, Officer N. DeJesus observed a man matching the description of Clardy outside the residence. Clardy told the officer that only a verbal altercation had occurred between him and his girlfriend Stacy Mitchell.

The officer observed blood on the back of Clardy’s shirt and on the palm of his hand. After numerous attempts, Stacy Mitchell opened the door and officers observed a swollen bottom lip and right eye. The was also blood on her shirt and her lip. Due to Mitchell’s injuries, Melvin Clardy was determined to be the aggressor and taken into custody. There is domestic history between the two. Clardy was already out on bond from February drug charges.

Melvin Clardy was arrested and charged with domestic assault and his bond was set at $2500.
