Man charged for slapping ex-girlfriend and choking her dizzy, per report

30-year-old Levar Bright was charged with aggravated domestic assault after his ex-girlfriend reported to police that he slapped her in the face and choked her until she became dizzy, per report.

On March 20th, Officer Steven Cash was dispatched to 290 Cunningham Lane in reference to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, Grace Standridge reported that she was involved in a verbal argument that turned physical with ex-boyfriend Levar Bright.

Grace stated that Levar had her cell phone and she demanded that he give it back, which he did. She continued by saying that she pushed Levar into the hallway, where they went into the bedroom. Levar then slapped her on the right side of her face and started choking her until she became dizzy. Grace said she tried going to a window and Levar tried choking her again. Police then spoke with Levar, who denied choking Grace and admitted to only restraining her, according to the affidavit. Officers noted that Grace had marks on her neck.

Lamar Bright was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. His bond was set at $10,000.
