56-year-old Edwin Pantoja was charged with possession of meth and unlawful drug paraphernalia after he was caught sleeping while parked at the Papa Rock gas pumps.
On September 10th, MCSO Deputy Rivera observed a small blue SUV sitting at the Papa Rock gas pumps located at 1475 Dover Road with a Hispanic male sleeping in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was in the park position and still running. As Deputy Rivera approached the vehicle, he observed Pantoja in a deep sleep and snoring. Deputy Rivera observed a lear plastic straw that appeared to have residue in it. Pantoja was awakened, identified, and asked to step out of the vehicle.
Deputy Rivera was granted verbal consent from Pantoja to search the inside of Pantoja’s vehicle. During the search, a plastic baggie with what appeared to be a crystal, salt-like substance was inside a pack of cigarettes on the passenger seat. The crystal substance was time tested positive for meth and weighed 0.8 grams.
Edwin Pantonja was arrested and charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $20,000.
