Lover reportedly chokeslams his girlfriend; said “the scissors triggered him”

50-year-old Ronald Waterbury was charged with aggravated assault after he had an argument with his girlfriend over a car which became physical when he grabbed her by the neck causing her to nearly lose consciousness.

On September 13th, Clarksville Police Officer Weber was dispatched to 826 Buckhorn Drive regarding a domestic which already occurred. The officer spoke with the girlfriend of Ronald Waterbury who said they had an argument over a car when he assaulted her.

During the argument, she was cutting off the tag of a shirt when Waterbury said “the scissors triggered him.” He then grabbed her neck with both of his hands and “body slammed” her to the floor. Officer Weber noted that he saw abrasions on her neck consistent with her story and she told him that she almost lost consciousness when he grabbed her neck.

Ronald Waterbury was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $2,500.
