K-9 sniff test nets 8 grams of cocaine after taillight stop

31-year-old Brandy Pennala was charged with light law violation, possession of cocaine, and resisting arrest after being stopped for a taillight violation that led to police discovering cocaine on her person.

On April 29th, a routine traffic stop was conducted on 100 Providence Blvd by CPD Officer Robert Dill on a red Jeep for taillights not being on at night. Brandy Pennala was identified as the driver. A K9 officer then arrived on scene to conduct a sniff test. Officer Hill then asked Pennala to step out of the vehicle, where she refused several times and tried to escape out of the passenger side.
