Jobless felon threatens girlfriend and child with shotgun over money

40-year-old David Martin was charged with two counts of aggravated domestic assault and unlawful possession of a weapon when he threatened his girlfriend and her child with a shotgun.

On July 20th, David Martin was arguing with his girlfriend’s child about money became so angry that he grabbed a shotgun and fired rounds into the ceiling and walls of the bedroom he shares with girlfriend Stevanie McClain. Martin only began firing when the two attempted to leave during the argument. When McClain and her son were in the vehicle, Martin jumped on top of it to stop them from leaving.

A welfare check was requested by McClain’s father. When authorities arrived they asked McClain for consent to search the property. Martin was found to have two bolt action shotguns, a 380 caliber handgun, and one shotgun. Martin is a convicted felon and has been barred from owning any firearms.

David Martin was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated domestic assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. His bond was set at $110,000.
