Fight at Days Inn results in booking of non-compliant woman

20-year-old Preshish Yancey was charged with disorderly conduct after a physical altercation occurred between herself and a male in the parking lot of the Days Inn. Yancey allegedly ignored multiple law enforcement orders to cease her actions, screaming and swearing at the officers in the process.

On June 8th, Officer Price was dispatched to the Days Inn located on 130 Westfield Ct in regards to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, Price made contact with the hotel’s desk clerk, who informed law enforcement of complaints received regarding two individuals involved in a physical altercation. Price found the two parties in the parking lot. When questioned, both individuals claimed that, while they were arguing, the dispute had not become physical.

According to the affidavit, the woman, later identified as Preshsish Yancey, was standing on the parking lot while the male subject was standing on the second floor outside of a hotel room. Officers advised Yancey to lower her voice, to which she reportedly ignored. Yancey proceeded to walk upstairs to the second floor of the Inn, continuing to raise her voice at the man. Law enforcement again urged Yancey to lower her voice to avoid additional complaints from guests.

Yancey then reportedly directed obscenities at the officer, who responded by walking up the stairs towards both parties. Yancey began to argue and scream at both the man and the officer, to which Price warned the woman that she would be detained for disorderly conduct if she continued to yell. Yancey persisted in ignoring the officer’s advisement, leading to law enforcement attempting to place her into custody for the aforementioned charge.

Price decided to give the woman an additional opportunity to vacate the premises. Yancey initially complied but began to scream when leaving the hotel room with her belongings. Due to Yancey’s screaming at both parties and declining verbal warnings, the woman was apprehended for disorderly conduct. While being placed into custody, Yancey attempted to sit down on the ground in refute of being placed into a patrol car, per report.

Preshish Yancey was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Her bond was set at $2,500.
