Erin man strangles girlfriend until she blacks out during an argument

23-year-old Cooper Wood was charged with aggravated assault after his girlfriend reported to police that during an argument he pushed her, grabbed her by the throat until she blacked out, then punched her in the face.

On June 2nd, close to 4 am Officer Moore made contact with the girlfriend of Cooper Wood, who was the victim of a domestic dispute. She told police that it all started with an argument between the two of them about their relationship. During the argument Cooper Wood, she said, pushed her and grabbed her throat.

As he began to strangle her she told police that she blacked out from the incident, then he punched her in the face and put her out of the room. Police noticed that she did have to bruise on her face and when they tried to speak to Wood he refused to open the door and speak.

Cooper Wood was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $10,000.
