54-year-old Leon Kendrick was charged with public intoxication after police made contact with him and allowed him to call someone to pick him up. He called 911 while the officer was present and was then deemed to be a danger to himself.
On May 8th, at a little after 6:30 am, Officer Torres responded to a domestic at 1144 E. College Street. Contact was made with the defendant, Leon Kendrick, who smelled of alcohol.
Kendrick admitted to drinking a few hours before his encounter with police. Officer Torres allowed him to contact someone to come pick him up. Kendrick called 911 to come and get him. He was placed into custody out of fear that he was a danger to himself.
Leon Kendrick was arrested and charged with public intoxication. His bond was set at $439.
