Driver crashes near Night Deposit; charged with first DUI

28-year-old Victor Bustamante was charged with driving under the influence and without a license after performing poorly on administered field sobriety tests as well as admitting he drank eight beers before driving.

On September 13th, Clarksville Police Officer Freeman was dispatched to 330 North 2nd Street in response to a crash where Victor Bustamante was being detained by officers for the suspicion he was driving under the influence. Bustamante consented to perform field sobriety tests and performed poorly.

The officer noted that Bustamonte was swaying from side to side, had the smell of alcohol on his breath, and had difficulties keeping his eyes open. After he was read his rights, Bustamonte told authorities he had drank eight beers within two hours before he drove. He consented to a blood draw and was taken into custody.

Victor Bustamonte was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. His bond was set at $5,000.
