Dover man charged with DUI after getting dump truck stuck in median

44-year-old John Miller was charged with driving under the influence when a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper was called to a stranded dump truck and noticed he had a white residue under his nose.

On June 12th around 7:46 a.m., Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Acosta was called to a dump truck stuck in a median on Highway 79. According to the affidavit, the trooper observed John Miller to have a white residue under his nose.

The officer also noted that Miller admitted to ingesting a prescription sleep aid before driving. He was taken into custody based on his performance on sobriety exams.

John Miller was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. His bond was set at $1,000.
