Construction workers threatened by man with a handgun

36-year-old David Kupcho was charged with aggravated assault and felony possession of a firearm after brandishing a handgun to a group of construction workers.

On September 16th, CPD Officer Joshua Godwin was responding to a burglary in progress in a new home construction next to 346 Wingfield Drive. Officer Godwin was walking towards the construction site when he was flagged down by three Hispanic males in a white work van. The victims stated that a white male identified as David Kupcho approached them with a black handgun and gave them orders to get down.

The victims stated they got into the van and left the residence and they provided a description of the subject and his residence. Officers made contact with Kupcho at 346 Wingfield Drive and was brought to the victim’s location where they positively identified him. A black handgun was secured from Kupcho’s residence and entered into evidence.

David Kupcho was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and felony possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $10,000.
