Woman slaps daughter for spending $200

51-year-old Tresa Sowell was charged with domestic assault after she slapped her daughter in the face over $200 that she spent from scrapping a car.

On October 11th, Clarksville Police Officer Marcus Onfroy was dispatched to 550 Syracuse Drive in response to a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, Tresa Sowell stated that she had just gotten back into town from a trip. She said that before leaving town, she and her daughter Tamessia Sowell had decided to sell an old vehicle that was parked in front of their apartment for scrap.

Tresa advised that when she returned home, the vehicle was sold in her absence and the $200 received for it had been spent. Tamessia reported that her mother then slapped her in the face. Tresa admitted to swinging her hand at her daughter but said that she moved away before contact was made.

Tresa Sowell was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was released on a $500 bond.
