On October 8th, Clarksville Police Officer Martin Spears conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Impala at the intersection of Lowes Drive and Trenton Road. All occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and consented to a personal search. Police Service Dog Chase then conducted a search, alerting officers of the presence of the odor of a narcotic. The officers found a folded dollar with a powder substance, a case with a meth pipe, a syringe, two blunt portions, a rubber tourniquet, and also a loaded Taurus 22 inside of the car. Inside of Grimes purse was a baggie with cut straw, a bag with powder substance, and a digital scale. All occupants denied any knowledge of the handgun and powder in the dollar bill. Grimes claimed all items located in her purse.

Amber Marie Grimes was arrested and charged with simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a weapon. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $40,000 bond.
