Woman charged with domestic assault after inconsistent allegations about boyfriend

49-year-old Delana Boggs was charged with domestic simple assault when she called police on her boyfriend for head butting her and then later changed her story.

On August 29th, CPD Officer Roederer responded to a domestic assault at 561 Briarwood Drive. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Delana Boggs, who stated that she and her boyfriend, Stanley Gambrell got into an argument about issues in their relationship. Delana originally reported over the phone that Stanley headbutted her, but when officers arrived she changed her statement.

She said that he did not headbutt her, but she wanted officers to speak with him. Delana then stated she did not know if he tried to headbutt her because it all happened so fast, but that he did walk towards her and she pushed him away by putting her hand on his face. Stanley confirmed they were in an argument and they were both in each other’s face yelling. Delana pushed him back by his face, which left a scratch on his nose. Stanley walked into the backyard and Delana locked the door behind him. Due to the inconsistencies in Delana’s statements and Stanley’s events not matching, officers determined Delana to be the primary aggressor.

Delana Boggs was arrested and charged with simple domestic assault. Her bond was set at $1,000.
