30-year-old Lacey Berglan was charged with shoplifting, simple possession, and assault after she was caught in Hilltop Market stuffing a cheesecake in her purse.
On August 25th, Lacey Berglan walked into Hilltop Market and started removing items from their original containers and putting them back on the shelf.
Berglan then went to the deli and picked out a cheesecake. She went to a different aisle and stuffed it in her purse. She tried to leave the store but was stopped by the owners. The value of the cheesecake and opened items in question was $40.
Cody Jackson reported to police that as he stopped Lacey from leaving, she assaulted him by hitting him with an open hand.
Lacey Berglan was arrested and charged with shoplifting, simple possession, and assault. Her total bond was set at $5,500.
