Police say man admitted to slashing tires and smashing a windshield during argument

30-year-old Matthew Outler was charged with vandalism when authorities said that he admitted to slashing all four tires and smashing out the windshield of a woman’s vehicle during an argument.

On June 30th, Clarksville Police Officer David McLaughlin was called to a report of domestic-related vandalism at 402 Highland Circle. According to the affidavit, when the officer arrived Matthew Outler and a woman were arguing and the woman was gathering her belongings to leave.

The officer advised that Outler admitted to slashing all four tires and smashing the windshield of the woman’s vehicle. Matthew Outler does not have a record of domestic violence. The estimated value of the damage was $1,200.

Matthew Outler was arrested and charged with vandalism. His bond was set at $5,000.
