When Johnson talked with Brown’s girlfriend, she said they were in a verbal argument while driving down the road when he hit her in the face. Johnson noted swelling under her eye, and she continued her story by saying she did hit him several times after he hit her. She explained that it was in an attempt to get him to pull over. When questioned, Brown said he did not intend to hit her and he was only deflecting her from hitting him.
