Man charged with domestic violence says that it never got physical

25-year-old Victor Perez was charged with domestic assault and simple possession after a verbal argument turned physical and officers found marijuana on his person.

On September 10th, Clarksville Police Officer Lee was dispatched to domestic violence at Hunterchase Apartments located at 1897 Madison Street. The officer spoke with Jamie Mayo who stated that she got into a verbal argument that turned physical with her boyfriend Victor Perez. Mayo advised after the argument with Victor he pushed her on the couch and held her arms down advising her that she will be sorry when she leaves him.

Victor then went onto the porch to smoke before Jamie advised him to leave, at which point he left the residence. Contact was made with Victor while he was walking down Madison Street. He stated that it was only a verbal argument that never became physical. During a search of his person, less than a half gram of a green leafy substance was found on his person, which he admitted was marijuana.

Victor Perez was arrested and charged with domestic assault and simple possession. Her bond was set at $3,500.
