Man caught with stolen vehicle tells police he is “bored”

27-year-old Adam Ludy was charged with theft of property and driving on a suspended license after police say he admitted to stealing a stranger’s running vehicle because he was bored.

On November 17th, an unnamed victim stated he started his 2011 Ford Taurus and left it running in front of his residence at 529 Sourwood Road. When he came back outside, he noticed his vehicle was missing. About an hour later, officers located and stopped the vehicle on Providence Boulevard near Power Street.

According to the affidavit, Adam Ludy was driving the vehicle and when questioned, he stated he saw the vehicle when he was leaving his residence at 438 Magnolia Drive. He told police he was bored, so he entered the car and drove it to the Ford dealership. He claimed he went there to buy himself a new car. Adam was not given permission to enter the car, valued at $6,500, and it was returned to its owner.

Adam Ludy was arrested and charged with theft of property and driving on a suspended license. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $27,500 bond.
