Man breaks in house to steal safe, caught by pet-sitter

39-year-old Jeffery Flowers was charged with aggravated burglary after a pet-sitter witnessed him stealing a safe from a residence.

At around 2:00 am on February 2nd, Julia Keller went to a friend’s house to let their pet out as a favor while he was out of town. Upon arrival, she met with someone already in the residence who identified himself as “Jon Jon’s older cousin.”

According to the affidavit, Jeffery Flowers admitted to Julia that he had broken the window to gain entry and also watched him take a safe from under the kitchen sink and secure it in his vehicle. Jeffery Flowers was identified by Julia in a photo lineup. Officers also spoke to the homeowner who stated he was missing a safe from under his sink and that he did not give Jeffery permission to be in his home or take his property.

On March 6th, Jeffery Flowers was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary. His bond was set at $75,000 and additionally has an out of county hold.
