Realtor turns home to house after drinking and striking her juvenile daughter with low grades

34-year-old Heather Benefield-Pugh was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest after striking her daughter five times and slipping out of her handcuffs in a patrol car.

On November 28th, Clarksville Police Officer Tyler Luckey responded to a possible domestic call at the residence of 594 Anchor Court. There Tyler met with Heather Benefield-Pugh who stated she had taken away her 15-year-old daughter’s cell phone because her grades were low. He then asked Heather to stay downstairs while he went to talk to the daughter. The daughter reported that her mother had hit her five times because she would not give up the phone and that she had been drinking.

Around this time Heather came upstairs and stated that her daughter was lying. She was then asked to go downstairs multiple times. Then she tried to force her way past officers into the room with her daughter. Officers then attempted to restrain her and were met with resistance. She was then taken and secured into the patrol car. Then officers returned to get a written statement from the daughter. When they returned to the vehicle, Heather had slipped her left cuff and resisted being cuffed again. She was then taken into custody.

Heather Benefield-Pugh was arrested and charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest. She has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
