Former Rossview High JROTC volunteer leader charged with sexual battery of 13-year-old

34-year-old Joshua Kain Carmichael, a former Rossview High School JROTC volunteer instructor, has been indicted on multiple charges of sexual battery, and sexual battery by an authority figure. He was arrested on June 12, and released hours later on a $40,000 bond.

Earlier this month, the Montgomery County Grand Jury indictment of Joshua Kain Carmichael was unsealed, charging him with 2 counts of sexual battery, and 2 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure. According to the indictment, copy below, the incidents occurred between January of 2017 and April of 2019, the earliest date putting the child at 13-years-old.

According to Carmichael, he worked as a volunteer instructor for the JROTC program at Rossview High School from August of 2017 until April of 2018. Parents told Scoop: Clarksville that Carmichael had been on overnight trips with children via the JROTC program. Carmichael is free on a $40,000 bond, via 911 Bail Bonding, and is scheduled for arraignment on July 1st.
