William Ellis wanted for questioning in the murder of Ontario Marburry overnight

Ontario Marbury, 31, has been identified as the man murdered overnight on College Street. William Harvey Ellis, 30, is wanted for questioning in the case and is considered armed and dangerous by police. He has outstanding warrants, and police need your help to find him.

In addition to answering questions about last night’s murder, Clarksville Police are also seeking Ellis on a violation of probation warrant, and a warrant for aggravated burglary – both are hold without bond warrants. Please call 911 if you see William Harvey Ellis.

Clarksville Police responded to a fight in progress call overnight, which quickly turned into a murder scene on College Street. A 31-year-old man died from a gunshot wound at the scene.

Just before midnight, Oct 22, officers initially responded to a fight in progress call at the 900 block of College.  Prior to officers’ arrival, the call had morphed to a shooting in progress.  When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound and unresponsive.  The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crime scene is being processed.  Based on interviews of witnesses at the scene, police are following solid leads in the case, but there has not been an arrest made or warrant issued.  Also, it is believed the victim and suspect knew each other.
