County Health Director: Montgomery County #15 on COVID-19 death Top 20

Montgomery County Director of Public Health Joey Smith confirmed via social media that Montgomery County made the list of the top twenty cities in Tennessee for COVID-19 deaths.

On August 18th, Montgomery County Health Director Joey Smith posted a list of the top twenty cities in Tennessee by number of COVID-19 deaths. Montgomery County is listed as number 15 of 95 counties with 18 deaths. He also noted that we had accrued 2 deaths overnight since August 17th.

The total case count for Montgomery County as of 2:00 p.m. August 18th is 2,182 since March 6th, an addition of 13 cases. 229 of those cases are in people between the ages of 5-18 years.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System is still trying to decide whether to proceed with opening schools to in-person instruction on August 31st.
