The Electic Cowboy of Clarksville, branded as “Clarksville’s largest party” on their social media, is defying all social distancing guidance amid the Coronavirus outbreak and inviting bar patrons & party-goers to “bring 5 friends to get in free”, and remained open Friday night among a crowd of patrons that were barely observing six inches of social distancing, much less than the six-feet official guidance.
National and local guidance has been to limit gatherings to less than ten people, and remain six-feet apart, but the Electric Cowboys of Clarksville invites the public to come out in large groups to enjoy what they brand as the biggest party in town. Speaking with the club Friday night, Scoop: Clarksville was assured the club was ‘open for business, and not slowing down’, via a phone call.
The club’s social media pages even liked comments, such as “Fuck this virus, let’s twerk like Miley Cyrus” on Facebook.
Both the County and City Mayor of Clarksville / Montgomery County have urged business owners to observe safety guidelines for public safety. Neither office replied to our inquiries before publication. The Electric cowboy post on social media they have “increased the frequency of our cleaning during hours of operation”, and remind the public they are a “destination of FUN”.
