City Council aims to pay attorney fees for those accused of ethics violation

On September 3rd during the monthly regular session, the Clarksville City Council passed on first reading an ordinance brought forward by Ward 11’s Gary Norris that would permit the council the ability to pay attorney fees for those facing ethics violation complaints.

Clarksville City Councilwoman Wanda Smith was found making racially insensitive remarks during a city council meeting on Thursday, February 27th. This is not the first time Wanda has spoken in a manner that seemed to be racially driven that has brought scrutiny to her and the position she currently holds.
