Woman consents to search after assaulting husband; tells police where she keeps marijuana

34-year-old Rachel Wells was charged with domestic assault, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia after throwing an ashtray at her husband and telling police where her marijuana was during a search of her house.

On October 16th, Clarksville Police Officer Thomas responded to a domestic call at 1004 Garfield Way. Upon arrival, Officer Thomas made contact with Rachel Wells, who stated that her husband, James Wells, left after an argument. Rachel allowed the officers to search the residence and advised she had marijuana in her room. Police found a glass pipe, a metal pipe, rolling papers, a grinder and a baggie of marijuana.

While talking to Rachel, James came back to the residence and informed police the altercation was physical. Both Rachel and James stated they had been drinking and argued over getting a divorce. During the argument, Rachel became aggravated and threw an ashtray at James. Officers observed James to have a swollen left eyebrow.

Rachel Wells was arrested and charged with domestic assault, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
