Woman bangs on another’s door for help; charged when she tells police there is a body nearby

29-year-old Katina Hegger was charged with theft of property and vandalism after she broke a woman’s front window, claimed there was a dead body nearby to authorities, and was found to have an active warrant for theft.

On November 2nd, Katina Hegger was recorded stealing an estimated $650 HP laptop from the library, 350 Pageant Lane, on video surveillance. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Weber arrived at her residence at 712 Woodmont Boulevard. He noticed Hegger had been wearing the same clothing she looked to be wearing in the video footage but claimed she never stole the laptop.

On November 7th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Weber responded to reports of a suspicious person banging on the front door at the residence of 1728 Skelton Drive. Samantha Mcintyre previously informed dispatch that the person at her residence had broken her window. When Deputy Weber arrived, he spoke with Katina Hegger who claimed there was a dead body and she needed authorities.

She explained she broke the window after she had been dropped off and received no answer when she knocked on the front door for help. Officer Weber detained her and spoke with the occupants of the residence, Samantha Mcintyre and Carol Mercer, who informed him that Katina did $200 worth of damage to the window. Katina was later found to have had an active warrant for theft earlier in the month.

Katina Hegger was arrested and charged with theft of property and vandalism. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $6,000 bond.
